SUSTAINABILITY LEADER - MARINE & OFFSHORE, DUBAI

Job Description:

Role:

The job incumbent drives all part of the project / contract management function from pre project definition and commercial phases to final delivery of serviced. Act as discipline expert providing support to UAE M&O and exchanging with the network on their area of competency.

Functional Competencies

·         As Gas & New energy and other alternative fuels expert for environmental compliance, promote the Company brand across the industry and stake holders (designers, shipyards, ship owners, authorities, etc.) as the leader in the field of Gas & New energy.

·         Obtain that Company is part of the relevant critical JDPs and coordinate our contribution with the members of the JDP.

·         Identify and develop meaningful JDP/JIPs and bring together suitable industrial partners for the consortia

·         Bring the expert contribution to Marketing & Sales Team when negotiating projects involving such modes of propulsion.

·         Overview the new building projects in United Arab Emirates involving Gas & New energy and innovation environment solutions.

·         Familiarize the Marketing & Sales teams with the Company solutions and references and support the training of NC, BVN and NS surveyors.

·         Represent Company in the specialized force and media, through physical participation or authoring of technical papers at recognized conferences on environment issues and innovative propulsion solutions.

·         Keep an active role in regulatory bodies in liaison with HO on IACS, ISO, National standards on Gas & New energy as fuel development and Gas & New energy bunkering solutions.

·         Ensure the regulatory watch and market watch in the field.

·         Coordinate actions on Gas & New energy in the UAE and when appropriate with HO, and other related Zones.

·         Detecting need for, drafting of and/or editing of guidance notes, rules notes and special studies, executing preliminary review, etc.

·         Responsible for supporting on request, organizing customer seminars, making internal and/or public presentations.

·         Responsible for raising the profile of Company via active engagements with all stakeholders (shipyards, designers, Owners/ Managers, manufacturers, IHLs, SMI , energy companies etc) with JDPs, JIPs, AiPs, Pre-contract services (such as Specification reviews) and making value propositions to them forging partnerships to secure long-lasting working relationships

·         Develop, organize and participate in relevant activities as workshops, seminars, webinars, events, publications / social media and frequent client interactions through calls or meetings

·         Participation in other activities assigned by the supervisor.

·         Comply with the requirements of the HSE and Compliance management systems.

Requirements

·         Possess experience with LNG Carriers, UTM campaign reports, Clean Fuels, New Energy within the Marine & Offshore sector.

·         Subject matter expert in LNG/Clean Fuels/New Energy with ability to deliver presentation in conferences and technical seminar.

·         Degree in Engineering related to Marine / Offshore / Naval Architecture with minimum 9 years relevant working experience in marine and offshore consultancy work.

·         Able to travel at short notice and accept short overseas assignments as required.

·         Fluent in English.

·         PC Literate: MS Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project), Microsoft Teams, VPM, VeriSTAR HLC

·         Number of developed JIPs/JDPs with key institutions and clients

·         Number of projects secured with LNG and alternative energy

·         Expanding BV’s branding and footprints in same domain

·         Manage specific projects in same domains

·         Represent BV in specific working and / or technical groups / committees in same domain
